A car crashed on the A7 on Friday morning, resulting in a fire in the Grouft tunnel.

The accident occurred at around 9.40am on Friday. One person sustained injuries as a result, as the car caught fire following the crash. The Lintgen ambulance service was supported by a team from the capital, as well as fire fighters from Lorentzweiler, Lintgen, Niederanven and Luxembourg City. The Grouft tunnel was closed to traffic in both directions for the duration of the emergency services' work.

Elsewhere, another injury was reported on the N24 just after 6am, after a car crashed between Oberpallen and Beckerich.

At 7.10am, another vehicle came off the road near Kayl, leaving one person with injuries.
