Residents of Larochette were faced with an extraordinary scene on Friday morning following a night of severe thunderstorms in the region.

At around 6am, the Luxembourg Motoring Association (ACL) reported that a road in Larochette was closed due to a mudslide. The municipality later confirmed the incident.

However, the impact of the mudslide extends beyond a single street. The main crossroads in Larochette, along with the surrounding streets, are entirely covered in mud, effectively bringing traffic in the town to a halt.

Currently, roads leading to Christnach, Heffingen, and Mersch are blocked. Clean-up operations are underway to address the disruption.
