A high-speed chase unfolded on the A4 motorway early Saturday morning, resulting in the arrest of a hit-and-run driver.

The incident began at around 4am when a police patrol observed a car speeding and swerving along Rue de Luxembourg. The driver then entered the A4 motorway, heading towards Luxembourg City.

Upon realising they were being pursued, the driver attempted to evade the police, reaching speeds of over 180 km/h. The chase concluded near the Bouillon car park in Luxembourg City, where the vehicle was finally brought to a stop.

Officers conducted a check and determined that the driver had consumed both cannabis and cocaine. It was also discovered that the car had been reported stolen.

The public prosecutor's office was notified and ordered the suspect's arrest. The driver was brought before an examining magistrate later that morning.
