Luxembourg on yellow alert

The whole country is on yellow alert as Meteolux has issued a heat warning between 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday. Temperatures are predicted to peak at 33°C, with dry, cloudy conditions for the most part.

However, a storm warning has been issued between 10am and 2pm, with local rain showers, hail, and wind gusts of 65-90 km/h expected.

Storms in Lorraine

France is still languishing in a heatwave, as 41 departments in the south are on orange alert. In Lorraine, near Luxembourg, there is a yellow alert for thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will reach around 32–33°C in Metz and Nancy, with rain showers and storms expected in the later part of the day.

Belgium on storm alert

Neighbouring Belgium will not be spared today’s storms, as a yellow alert has been issued for Wednesday afternoon in the province of Luxembourg, in Namur, and later in Liège.

The IRM predicts hot, muggy weather with clear spells, as well as local thunderstorms, hail and strong winds. Temperatures will fluctuate between 25 and 30 degrees.
