On Monday morning, a car caught on fire on the Route d'Echternach.

As can be seen in the video footage and images sent in by a RTL journalist at the scene, flames and smoke are emerging from the car engine and from beneath the vehicle.

Shortly after the incident was reported, the police have closed the affected road to all traffic and a detour route is being set up.
