Prime Minister Luc Frieden celebrated the CSV's recent electoral successes and outlined their 10-point plan for the future during a weather-dampened reception at Hesperange municipal park on Wednesday, emphasising his administration's achievements and commitment to social inclusivity.
The Christian Social People's Party (CSV) on Wednesday invited its members to a reception at the Hesperange municipal park, with officials expressing gratitude for all of the campaign efforts that people have shown over the past two years. Having finished the mammoth election cycle as the top-performing party in the municipal, national, and European elections, Prime Minister Luc Frieden showed himself satisfied with the direction in which the CSV is heading.
"What a year since our last summer festivities. I can still remember vividly how I had to disc jokey here on the grass not too long ago", Frieden stated in front of his supporters.
While the weather did put a damper on this year's summer event, the prime minister focused on outlining his parties ambitions for the remainder of the legislative period. Discussing the CSV's 10-point plan, Frieden noted: "These are very concrete propositions that people want and which we think will help us ready our country. That is why it is our goal – as a government, a majority in the Chamber, and as a party – to ensure that we implement a maximum number of those points over the next five years."
Frieden further showed himself satisfied with what his administration has achieved since taking office eight months ago. He cited tax reliefs, housing initiatives, and the fight against child poverty as first steps in the right direction. "We will not leave anyone behind at the edge of our society. And we will ensure that we bring those back who find themselves there", Frieden highlighted in his speech.
