Anyone travelling on the roads on Sunday morning may have had to forcibly take a few detours.

Signs of Saturday evening's violent storm are still visible. The situation appears to have been in line with what emergency services had foreseen. However, Luxembourg's south and center regions were particularly affected by the storms and flooding. Apart from nature, residents also hold politicians partly responsible for the extent of the damage. RTL spoke with those affected.

“I’m not an expert, but when I see the amount of water that floods our street, it definitely isn’t normal. The tenant before us, when the new quarter hadn't been built, only had one problem with a flood in the time they lived here, and now we’ve had two flash floods in 3 years.”
- Christian Leches, resident

"They built lots of new houses, but I bet the sewage system remains the same."
- Marcel Ries, resident
