The old electric power transmission lines between Aubange, Belgium and Esch-sur-Alzette's Belval district are set to be removed with works starting on Wednesday.
During the first phase, workers will make sure that the works go as planned. Then over the next four months, the power lines will be gradually removed.
After this, the pylons will be taken down and the ground will be restored. The works will take a total of nine months according to Belgian news outlet RTBF and are taking place to improve the Belgian energy grid.
The electric transmission lines in Esch-Belval have been standing since 1962 but have not been functional for the past few years.
