Every year, the Grand Ducal family visits a different municipality, and this year, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa were visiting Kehlen.
On Saturday, Kehlen residents experienced the excitement of a visit from the Grand Ducal couple, which turned into a grand folk festival despite the weather.
Thirty-five local associations collaborated to create a memorable event that attracted around 1,000 people, including 400 children, who warmly greeted the couple.
The Grand Duke spent nearly two hours touring the municipality, which included stops at the music school and an exhibition titled "Ech war dobäi" by Jacques Schneider.
Kehlen's mayor, Felix Eischen, expressed his honor in hosting the Grand Ducal couple, noting the extensive preparations that went into the event. "The court asked if they could come and, of course, we replied that we would be happy to do so," he said.
Eischen praised the coordinated efforts of the organising team and acknowledged the hard work involved, stating, "It was a lot of work to do and I thank all our teams for their contribution. It was really worth it. You can see that people are happy."
Despite the Grand Ducal couple's departure for Luxembourg City at 6.45 pm, the municipality of nearly 7,000 residents buzzed with excitement throughout the day.
