A spate of criminal acts on Monday evening has led Luxembourg police to launch multiple investigations, following a violent mugging in Kirchberg and a series of car break-ins across the country.

Police report a violent mugging on Rue Carlo Hemmer in Kirchberg on Monday evening. A man is said to have stolen a woman's phone, injuring her in the process while further threatening a number of bystanders. The victim later told police that the perpetrator had assaulted her to get the phone, after which the authorities launched a search and opened an investigation.

Police also report a number of car break-ins in Luxembourg City on Monday evening, including on Boulevard Prince Henri where several electronic items were stolen from a vehicle. A similar incident unfolded at an up-town car park where several vehicles were broken into, with handbags and backpacks being stolen. Police dispatched a forensics team to the scene.

Another car break-in was reported at a Remerschen car park where cash money and jewellery was stolen from a vehicle. Police have opened investigations into all of these cases.
