The distinctive building has been a part of the City's landscape since 1982.

By summer, the former social security building will only be remembered through old photographs. Currently, the building and its individual parts are being dismantled so that 1,.500 square metres of concrete can be levelled to the ground.

After three months of works, the demolition of the building is progressing rapidly. In its place, the future 'Porte de Hollerich' will be erected, featuring 190 planned residential units alongside offices and commercial spaces.

A tram extension is also being planned to run through Route d'Esch here, with construction expected to commence in 2025.

Prospective residents of this new district would be able to move in within the next three to four years.
