On Friday afternoon, an accident occurred at around 4.40pm along the CR162 between Filsdorf and Syren, involving a car and a van.

Shortly after passing Filsdorf, a driver lost control of their vehicle, veering into oncoming traffic and resulting in a collision with a van. The impact propelled both vehicles into the ditch, causing the van to overturn. Emergency responders treated the van's passenger at the scene before transporting them to the hospital for further evaluation.

Neither driver sustained injuries. However, the driver of the car tested positive for alcohol, although their blood alcohol content was below the threshold of 1.2‰. Both vehicles incurred significant damage as a result of the collision.

Alcohol checks lead to licence revocations

Out of the 143 drivers screened, eight tested positive for alcohol, resulting in fines. Additionally, five drivers were immediately required to surrender their driving licences due to exceeding the legal alcohol limit.
