The latest results of the Spears Schools Index have been announced today, with Luxembourg-based St George’s International School securing a place among the world’s top 100 private schools.

St George’s Principal Zeba Clarke described the recognition as a tremendous honour, highlighting that it reflects the commitment, determination and dedication of the school’s staff, students and the St George’s community.

Clarke says that academic excellence is crucial and their results speak for themselves. “Our students go to the top universities across Europe and around the world. They win awards locally and internationally. And they do so while contributing to the community and upholding our school values of courage, honesty, kindness, respect and wisdom.”

The school itself is a well-regarded private school in Luxembourg and offers a globally focused curriculum designed to prepare students for success in higher education and beyond, while also emphasising personal development, creativity and critical thinking.

With students and staff from many different nationalities, St George’s offers a multicultural environment that encourages open-mindedness and is perfect for an international community, which has also greatly contributed to its reputation as one of the leading international schools not only in Luxembourg, but also in Europe.

Its teachers are also recognised for their exceptional quality and dedication. In June 2025, primary teacher Síghle O’Doherty was named the Pearson International School Teacher of the Year for Europe, standing out among more than 250 nominees. Her colleague Mary Davis was also shortlisted for the same award, which further highlights the school’s teaching excellence.

The Spears Schools Index is an annual ranking that highlights the world’s leading private school and analyse their academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care and ability to prepare students for success in a global environment. Being included in the list is considered a prestigious accolade, as it is compiled by experts and relies on factors such as reputation, innovation, facilities and student outcomes.
