Prime Minister Luc Frieden is set to assume the role of CSV party leader, according to RTL sources.
Frieden is expected to replace current co-presidents Elisabeth Margue and Claude Wiseler at the CNV national congress in Hesperange this Saturday.
Current Minister of Agriculture Martine Hansen and Mayor of Esch Christian Weis are likely to become the party vice-presidents. They will succeed Anne Logelin and Paul Galles, who have opted not to seek re-election.
Frieden would be the first Luxembourgish PM to simultaneously hold the position of party leader.
The party is also expected to introduce younger members into its leadership. Alex Donnersbach, MP from Walferdange, and Françoise Kemp, MP from the Minett region, are set to assume the positions of party secretaries, succeeding Christophe Hansen and Stéphanie Weydert.
As there will be no opposing candidates, all eyes will be on the margin of victory for Frieden's new team.
