The police were called to two collisions on Monday, one involving a hit-and-run in Esch and the other a multi-vehicle crash in Mamer, with both cases resulting in driving bans for intoxication.

Luxembourg police responded to two separate road incidents on Monday afternoon, both of which concluded with motorists being banned from driving after testing positive in breathalyser tests.

The first incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Rue Zenon Bernard in Esch-sur-Alzette. According to police reports, a driver collided with a parked car, then abandoned their own vehicle and fled the scene on foot. A patrol located the individual shortly afterwards. Upon inspection, the driver provided a positive breathalyser test, resulting in an immediate driving ban.

Later in the day, officers were called to a multi-vehicle collision on Route d'Arlon in Mamer. Initial reports indicated that three cars were involved, but no injuries were sustained. During the investigation, one of the motorists showed signs of intoxication. A subsequent breathalyser test confirmed the suspicion, and the individual was also issued a temporary driving ban.
