An individual subject to an active arrest warrant was apprehended by police in the Gare neighbourhood Monday night.

On Monday evening, police in Luxembourg City apprehended an individual in the Gare neighbourhood for whom an active arrest warrant was outstanding.

The arrest occurred at approximately 9.50pm on Rue du Fort Elisabeth. Following a medical examination, the individual was transferred to Schrassig Prison for pre-trial detention.

Separate incidents of theft

In an unrelated incident, police are investigating an attempted theft reported on Place de Paris. According to a police report, three individuals approached a victim and attempted to steal a mobile phone. The suspects fled the scene after the attempt was unsuccessful. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

In a second, separate case, a person was arrested late Monday afternoon after stealing cosmetics and jewellery from a shop on Avenue de la Gare. The suspect was detained by police shortly after the theft. The individual was presented before an examining magistrate on Tuesday morning.
