Sunday's police report shows a number of home and car break-ins that took place throughout the Grand-Duchy on Saturday.
One burglary took place on Rue Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Bettembourg around 5pm on Saturday. The perpetrator managed to access the building by breaking a window. He searched through several rooms and wardrobes and successfully stole a number of valuable goods.
However, he did not expect the homeowners to come back so soon. Despite one of the residents of the house chasing the burglar, he managed to escape.
The police finally caught the burglar in a nearby forest. At the station, officers found a stolen phone, some cash, and other items in the thief's possession during a pat-down. Near the burglarised home, the police also found a jacket and a backpack with more valuable items which were presumably left behind by the burglar during his escape.
Following orders from the public prosecutor's office, the perpetrator was arrested and presented to an examining magistrate.
