Police break up brawls in Clervaux and Luxembourg City

A police patrol on Rue Sigefroi in Luxembourg City noticed a fight between two men. Apparently a stolen phone had led to the violent altercation.

The victim had been asked for directions by three men, and was then beaten. His mobile phone was stolen in the mugging. As the three perpetrators fled, the victim got hold of one attacker and struck back.

The police patrol, at the right place at the right time, wanted to control the intoxicated offender, but was confronted with an increasingly aggressive man. He was arrested and an investigation launched.

Brawl in Clervaux

There were reports of another fight in the north. Two men were involved in a brawl on Rue de la Gare. One attacker had threatened the other with a pocket knife, which led to the fight. Officers confiscated the knife.
