Alcohol checks407 motorists tested by Police, four licences revoked

Police conducted alcohol checks at three locations on Saturday night, with four drivers getting their licences revoked.

At the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, breathalyser tests were carried out at three different locations between 11.30pm and 3.30am.

In Esch-sur-Alzette, 170 motorists were tested, four of whom returned positive results. Reports were issued in all four cases. One driving licence was revoked on the spot, while irregularities in the vehicle documents were identified in three cases.

In Foetz, police checked 80 drivers, resulting in seven positive alcohol tests. Seven reports were filed, and two driving licences were revoked.

In Luxembourg City, 157 breath tests were carried out, revealing excessive alcohol consumption in ten cases. Police issued six reports and four fines. One driving licence was revoked, and in two cases, there were issues with the drivers’ documents.

In addition, police observed motorists swerving between lanes or failing to respect right-of-way rules in Leudelange, Dudelange and Steinfort on Saturday night. In all three cases, the drivers tested positive for alcohol and had their driving licences revoked.
