
On 24 January around 7pm, a vehicle was reported for dangerous driving in Esch-sur-Alzette. After circling the Raemerich roundabout several times, the vehicle entered the A4 motorway heading toward Luxembourg. A search was launched, and the vehicle was located. Only after several warnings did the driver finally slow down and stop near Rue du Bouillon in Luxembourg City. During the check, officers detected a strong smell of alcohol. A breath test came back positive. The driver’s license was confiscated, and a provisional suspension was imposed.
Around 2am on 25 January, in Leudelange, officers noticed a vehicle driving dangerously with its lights off. The vehicle was intercepted. During the traffic stop, officers detected a strong odour of alcohol and slurred speech from the driver. A breath test was conducted and came back positive. The driver’s license was confiscated, and a provisional suspension was issued.
Later the same day, around 2.30am in Dudelange, officers observed a vehicle driving erratically through the town. The driver was stopped, and a strong smell of alcohol was detected. A breath test was positive. The driver’s license was confiscated, and a provisional suspension was imposed.
Around 3.30am in Steinfort, a police patrol noticed a vehicle speeding through the town and failing to yield at intersections. The driver was intercepted and found to be under the influence of alcohol. A breath test confirmed the intoxication. The driver’s license was revoked, and a temporary driving ban was imposed.
On 24 January, around 5pm, police received a report of a person provoking and insulting CFL employees at the Ettelbruck train station. A patrol arrived on the scene and found a woman shouting. All attempts to calm her failed. She continued to provoke and insult the officers and eventually became physically aggressive. The woman was heavily intoxicated. Because her behaviour posed a public nuisance and a danger to herself and others, it was decided, after a medical evaluation, that she would be placed in temporary custody until sober. A report was filed for public disturbance.
Later, around 9.30pm, a police patrol in Luxembourg was investigating an altercation at the central station when an unrelated man arrived and began shouting, disrupting the police operation. He was asked to calm down and leave, but ignored the request. The man was visibly intoxicated. Given his advanced state of inebriation and continued disruptive behaviour, police decided after a medical check confirmed he was fit for detention to place him in temporary custody until sober.
On the evening of January 24, 2026, and in the early hours of January 25, 2026, several public disturbances were reported. These incidents occurred in Bereldange, Bonnevoie, Dudelange, Echternach, Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg-Gare, and Neudorf.
