Starting next week, a groundbreaking digital translation application designed to translate both written and spoken English and Luxembourgish texts will be making waves.
This is the promise of the company GCore from Contern. In a global landscape where Luxembourgish stands out as a unique language, Andre Reitenbach, CEO of GCore, emphasises the scarcity of online dictionaries or translation applications catering to Luxembourgish. Breaking new ground, GCore has recently introduced an innovative solution. According to Reitenbach, they have "developed a model capable of seamlessly translating English into Luxembourgish. Meaning that you can simply express yourself in English, and the translation into Luxembourgish happens instantaneously through the app."
The translation functionality extends bidirectionally, allowing users to translate both from Luxembourgish into English and vice versa. Scheduled for release next week on GCore's website, this versatile application will be accessible through standard web browsers.
Andre Reitenbach elaborates, stating: "You can integrate it into various tools and use it locally for your specific processes." Notably, GCore's tool is adaptable to popular chat applications like Whatsapp or the newly launched Luxchat. However, this feature is currently tailored for corporate integration rather than individual users. Indeed, the company primarily caters to businesses.
This capability could prove useful for companies wanting to strengthen their IT infrastructure, enabling them to train in-house AI models using proprietary data and information. Peter Sodermans, in charge of external relations at GCore, emphasises the importance of data security frameworks: "We adhere to GDPR in Europe, the Privacy Act, and the Cloud Act, ensuring that your data remains secure."
For European companies, this means that their confidential data stays within the continent and is not transferred to another jurisdiction through service providers.
