Authorities are warning the public about a new scam email currently in circulation that appears to have been sent by the Mutualist Medical and Supplementary Fund (CMCM).
Upon opening the message, recipients see the CMCM logo. The accompanying text claims that the recipient’s membership card has expired and instructs them to fill in a form to obtain a replacement. A link is provided, supposedly directing users to the form in question.
However, closer inspection reveals that the email was sent from a Belgian email address, confirming that it did not originate from the CMCM and is indeed a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal data.
As is standard in such cases, users are urged not to click on any links contained in the message and under no circumstances to enter any personal information.
