Police report two muggings, one of them violent, as well as an attempted break-in over the past two days.
A man was mugged on Rue Gaffelt in Dudelange at 9.15pm on Monday. The perpetrator stole the victim's phone, headphones, and sunglasses before escaping on a scooter driven by a second perpetrator.
The perpetrator was described as follows: young, of regular stature, between 180 and 185-centimetres tall, stubby beard, wearing a grey hoodie, a grey hat, and French-speaking. The man driving the scooter has been described as shorter, having black hair, and being dressed in all black.
Violent mugging in Esch-sur-Alzette
Another person was assaulted and mugged at knife point in Esch-sur-Alzette at 10pm on Tuesday evening. The perpetrators stole cash and fled via Rue des Jardins toward Place de l'Hôtel de Ville.
As for the suspect description, the first man was about 30-years-old, tall and of slim stature, wearing a white jacket, and riding a white bicycle. The second man was shorter and of heavyset build, wearing jeans, a white and blue jacket, and a black cap.
Burglar caught red-handed
Police also reported that a man surprised a burglar in the act of breaking into his home, after which the individual immediately fled the scene. The burglar has been described as being 180-centimetres tall, of regular stature, and wearing a black and yellow jacket with a phrase printed on the back.
