The 'Léier Lëtzebuergesch Online' website has launched a new Luxembourgish course this week, free of charge.
LLO.lu now offers level B1 courses in Luxembourgish for free, according to a joint statement by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Languages Luxembourg (INL).
Level B1 is the third level in the classification of language levels, and follows A1 (complete beginner) and A2 (beginner) courses. A B1 speaker is generally expected to be independent, able to follow the main topics of a conversation and to express themselves on certain common topics.
The government has also launched new lessons tailored to some professions, as well as information for visitors on activities linked to the Luxembourgish language and culture.
According to the Ministry, more than 61,000 people have signed up to the platform since its launch in September 2022.
