106 teams of over 1,400 runners participated in the sixth edition of the Lëtz Go Gold charity run in Kockelscheuer.

A record total of 600,000 euros was raised for paediatric cancer research on Saturday.

Anne Goeres, director of childhood cancer foundation Kriibskrank Kanner and organisers of the charity run, praised the solidarity that the families showed for their patients.

9 new research projects will be funded through the money raised, with the aim to improve healing chances for young patients, but also to develop less invasive and more effective cancer medications.

Other charity runs took place in Paris, Brussels and Madrid.

The next edition of Lëtz Go Gold will take place on Saturday 28 September 2024.
