The National Employment Agency recently hosted a job day aimed at addressing the labour shortage in the construction sector, connecting 19 hiring companies with 200 job seekers.

The job day also focused on 50 former employees from the recently bankrupt construction company Cardoso.

Georges Engel, Minister for Labour, Employment and the Social Solidarity Economy, commented on the initiative: "The difficult situation facing workers affected by the bankruptcy of Cardoso and other companies in the construction sector is a major concern for us. It is crucial to provide rapid and concrete support to help the affected employees reintegrate into the labour market; this is all the more important as the sector is facing a crucial shortage of skilled workers."

The respective press release does not indicate how many people were recruited in the context of the job day.
