The Louis Delhaize group has sold 27 branches of Cora, Match, and Smatch supermarkets in Luxembourg to French retailer E.Leclerc.

All 1,200 employees will have their contracts moved over as part of the sale, which is planned to take place in the last quarter of 2023.

The affected stores are made up of two hypermarkets and 27 supermarkets and smaller outlets.

With 754 stores, E.Leclerc is the largest supermarket group in France, with sales reaching over €44 billion in 2022.
