With the Easter holidays approaching, a variety of family-friendly events around Luxembourg promise everything from egg hunts in castles to dinosaur adventures and swimming pool Easter wonderlands.

Easter is just around the corner, and families across Luxembourg have plenty of opportunities to celebrate with egg hunts, themed activities and unforgettable experiences. From historic castles and dinosaur museums to swimming pools transformed into Easter wonderlands, here are eight fun activities to enjoy with children during the Easter holidays.

1. Egg Easter Hunt in a Château

On 4 and 5 April, the 17th-century French Château de Preisch, located close to Luxembourg, will host its traditional Egg Easter Hunt in the gardens of the beautiful castle. A total of 3,000 eggs will be scattered throughout the park, along with surprises, including a golden egg.

Whoever finds it will win a giant chocolate egg. All participants need are good shoes and a basket for collecting eggs.

2. Easter Train Experience

The Chemin de Fer à Vapeur des 3 Vallées in Belgium, about one hour and 50 minutes from Luxembourg, offers a special Easter train ride full of surprises. Children will receive sweets during the journey, and a mascot parade will take place.

After the ride, an Easter egg hunt organised by age groups will follow.

3pm: Arrival in Treignes

Stop in Treignes for one hour and 20 minutes, where visitors follow the mascots for a large Easter egg hunt near the museum.

Three egg hunts are organised in the following order:

  • Ages eight and above
  • Ages four to eight
  • Ages three and above (one adult may accompany)

Visitors can also enjoy a museum visit and a miniature train ride for children, as well as a cafeteria, souvenir shop, and light meals, such as hot waffles.

3. Easter Rally for Families at a Slate Museum

At the Musée de l’Ardoise in Haut-Martelange, the Easter Bunny has lost his eggs in the museum. During the Luxembourg school holidays, children can embark on an adventure to solve riddles, explore the museum, and find the delicious eggs.

It is a fun activity for the whole family during the holidays.

4. Giant Easter Wonderland in a Swimming Pool

Pack your swimsuits and head to Cascade Erlebnisbad Bitburg in Germany on Saturday 4 April 2026. The swimming pool will transform into a giant Easter Wonderland with several highlights including:

  • Slide contest
  • Colourful egg run
  • Rabbit race
  • And more

5. Dinosaur Egg Hunt

At the Musée Archéologique du Pays Thionvillois – La Tour aux Puces, a unique Dinosaur Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday 4 April 2026. Dinosaur eggs have mysteriously spread across the globe.

Children aged four and above must find them before they hatch and turn the museum upside down.

6. Easter Party in an Aquatower

Families can enjoy a special Easter morning 50 metres above the ground with beautiful views at the Aquatower in Berdorf. The event includes Easter arts and crafts, egg colouring, and other activities for children.

7. Another Swimming Pool Easter Wonderland

The Hamelys Aquatic Centre in Basse-Ham, France, about 30 minutes from Luxembourg, will also host a special Easter event on Saturday 4 April 2026. The aquatic centre will transform into a giant playground featuring:

  • A water course in the play pool for children aged two to nine
  • An inflatable obstacle course in the sports pool from six years old
  • An egg hunt in the aquatic hall for children aged two to 12
  • Fun workshops

8. Easter in the Far West

At Western City Chaudfontaine in Belgium, Easter celebrations take on a Wild West theme. This event offers more than just an egg hunt: visitors can take part in a series of challenges and fun games for children and adults, including parents.

Put on your cowboy boots and come have fun with Mr Rabbit and his friends.
