
A man was found injured and bleeding heavily outside a bistro on Rue de Strasbourg in Luxembourg City’s Gare district shortly before midnight, police have announced. He had a wound behind his ear, which was later determined as not life-threatening.
Officers arrived to find another person assisting the victim. Police took over first aid until emergency services transported the man to a hospital.
Afterwards, officers launched a search for a suspected attacker, who was quickly identified and voluntarily turned himself in. Initial investigations indicate that a verbal dispute, during which death threats were made, escalated into a physical assault.
The public prosecutor ordered the suspect’s arrest, and he appeared before an investigating magistrate on Sunday morning. The exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
At around 2.40pm on Saturday, two women broke into a house in Hamiville but were surprised by a resident. They fled with stolen items and escaped by car.
Despite a search involving several patrols and a police helicopter, the suspects were not found. Investigations are ongoing.
