Luxair announced a few weeks ago that it had ordered four Boeing 737-7s from the US manufacturer. This recent order doubles the company’s initial purchase of four 737-8 aircraft in March 2023. As a result, Luxair now boasts “eight firm orders” for Boeing’s short and medium-haul aircraft.
“Luxair will become the European launch customer for this aircraft,” the company stated.
Luxair will also lease two 737-8s, expected to arrive in the summer of 2023, before taking direct delivery of their first 737-8.
Gilles Feith, the CEO of Luxair, expressed his commitment to the airline’s growth and the significance of the agreement for the four Boeing 737-7s, stating, “we continue to invest in Luxair’s growth and this agreement for four Boeing 737-7 is an extra step towards securing a long term future for our national airline. This type of aircraft is a perfect match for Luxair and will meet the requirements of the market.”
