The Chamber's budgetary control commission has refused an invitation to meet with Nicolas Didier as the president of the Luxembourg Science Center is currently under investigation for suspected financial misconduct.
The commission does not intend on speaking with Didier, despite attempts from the latter to set up a meeting. In conversation with RTL, commission president Diane Adehm from the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) stated: "We are aware that the prosecutor's office is currently investigating and that is why we do not want to meet with external people to discuss the dossier at this stage."
When asked if Didier had contacted her, Adehm replied: "Mr Didier has contacted me in my function as commission president to discuss the dossier. Naturally, I forwarded this email to all the members, same as the man from the fiduciary did. And this afternoon we unanimously agreed to not meet with neither of them since the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation."
Following analyses of the financial connections between the non-profit Center and Didier's private company GGM11, the Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) had forwarded the case to the prosecutor's office. GGM11 officials will have to appear in court on 21 June in relation to work carried out without valid authorisation.
