On Wednesday afternoon, the Chamber of Deputies unanimously passed a convention that will increase the maximum number of days to 34. Minister of Finance Yuriko Backes and French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire signed this convention on 7 November 2022. The new rules apply retroactively from 1 January 2023.

For the first time, these rules also apply to the civil service and not just the private sector. This means that the new regulations also apply for French residents who work for organisations such as the Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF), for instance.
