Dirk Daenen, who is a communications professor, as well as the organiser and curator for TEDxLuxembourgCity, came by the Sam Steen Show to discuss with Steps and Meredith the next TEDxEducation event which will take place on 10th May, at Forum Geesseknäppchen.

This time around they’ll be hosting 7 speakers who will be talking about education-related topics. Of those 7, three speakers are students who have entered and won a national “Idea Competition”, which was organised with the help of the Ministry of Education. Of the numerous applications, they chose three winning ideas that will be presented by the respective winners, of whom the youngest is only 13 and the oldest 17.

What can you expect from the event?

From topics such as the incorporation of AI in schools, to programs that help disadvantaged children with maths, to performances by a beatboxer and a mural artist, to 13-year-old visually impaired Judo champions, to speeches on “How not to be a brat” by none other that a student himself and the power of music in overcoming fears... you’re sure to get an eclectic mix of inspiring people.

This is an event for students, teachers, parents, or anyone who has a say in education or is interested in whether education is going in the right direction.
