From family conflicts, drink driving to public disturbances - police reports various interventions during the Christmas weekend.

The police were informed of an argument between several people in a car park on Rue de Hollerich at around 4.20 pm on Sunday. What according to initial information was a family quarrel resulted in the damage of a car windscreen. One of the participants had to be detained because of his intoxication and because he was a danger to himself and others.

At around 5.35 pm, a motorist was reported to the police between Bavigne and Harlingen due to his suspicious driving style. He was found shortly thereafter and showed clear signs of alcohol intoxication, but refused to take a breathalyser test. He was issued a temporary driving ban as a result.

Later on Sunday night, a man was reported on Avenue de la Gare in Luxembourg City for attempting to damage ATMs. The man was clearly under the influence of alcohol and was very agitated when the police patrol found him. Considering that he was a danger to himself and others, it was decided to detain him after a medical check.

In the early hours of 26 December, the police were informed of a man in the car park on Rue Carlo Hemmer on Kirchberg. He, too, who was visibly drunk and harassing passers-by. When the police arrived on the scene, they were also insulted by the man. As he did not want to be calmed down, he was placed under arrest.

At around 6.50 am, a traffic accident occurred on route d'Esch in Hollerich, where a vehicle hit a traffic signpost. The driver and the other occupants were found on the spot and tested for alcohol. After the test came out positive, the driver was given a temporary driving ban. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

A number of other domestic disputes and public disturbances were also reported.
