A car crash in Belair indirectly resulted in three motorists losing their licences for drink-driving on Saturday.

Two cars collided on Route d'Arlon in Luxembourg City in the early hours of Saturday morning, with three people hospitalised with minor injuries.

One of the drivers was not only inebriated, but was also subject to a temporary driving ban. The road had to be closed to traffic at around 1.30am.

While the police were securing the perimeter, they decided to check another driver who did not stop immediately. The motorist's breathalyser test came back positive, leading the police to withdraw his driving licence. His car was also not properly registered.

Shortly after 2am and still in the same location, another driver was clearly speeding before turning into a side street.

The police chased after the vehicle. Once again, the driver turned out to be inebriated and had to hand over his driving licence.
