Traffic on the A13 came to a standstill on Saturday following an accident in the direction of Dudelange. This led some motorists to attempt some very dangerous manoeuvres.
The accident reportedly took place by the construction site and blocked the lanes normally available to traffic.
The situation caused major traffic jams in the area. The incident even impacted traffic on the A4 at one point, as one motorist told our colleagues from RTL 5 Minutes.
A video seen by RTL 5 Minutes shows that some motorists took advantage of the emergency corridor to turn around on the motorway. It should go without saying that this is not only a very risky manoeuvre, but it is also illegal if not coordinated by the police.
In situations like this, it is best to remain patient rather than endangering yourself or others. The emergency corridor may only be used by emergency vehicles that must reach the site of the accident as quickly as possible. You can find more information on emergency corridors on the website of the police.
According to RTL information, the person involved in the accident was not injured and the road later reopened to traffic.
