A young woman has died after being hit by a lorry on the A7 on Thursday night.

The accident occurred at around 9.15 pm on Thursday, when a woman was killed after exiting her vehicle at a hard shoulder between the Grouft and Stafelter tunnels on the A7 towards Luxembourg.

Police confirmed on Friday that a 27-year-old woman from southern Luxembourg had succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Two other people were in the parked vehicle when the accident occurred, and were taken to hospital for checks. It is not yet clear why the woman exited the car.

With police on the scene, the A7 was closed for several hours between Lorentzweiler and Waldhaff.
