On Monday evening, a man was robbed at around 8.40pm as he left a café on Rue Joseph Junk.

Two unknown individuals approached him and told him to follow them. When he refused, they suddenly turned aggressive, and one of them tried to force him to the ground.

The man fought back, but one of the suspects managed to take his mobile phone from his pocket before both fled.

Shortly after midnight, police received a report of a second incident on the same street.

A man was walking with an acquaintance when four unknown individuals approached and grabbed him by the arms, while one of them stole two of his bags.

The group then fled towards the train station. One of the bags was later found not far from the scene. Police have opened investigations into both incidents.

Also near the station, officers were called to a shop on Avenue de la Gare at around 4.10pm on Monday after a woman allegedly tried to steal two bottles of perfume.

A security guard intervened and stopped her, and she was detained by police at the scene. The goods were returned to the shop and a report was filed.

In Diekirch, two men allegedly took several items from a shop on Route d’Ettelbruck on Monday before boarding a bus towards Ettelbruck.

Officers stopped the bus and identified one of the men on board as one of the suspects. The stolen items were returned to the shop and a report was filed.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was struck by a car on Rue du Brill in Schifflange on Monday and taken to hospital for treatment, police said.
