The latest weekly coronavirus report shows that infections fell slightly over the week of 11-17 April.

Last week, 29 people were treated in hospitals after contracting the coronavirus. Three were in need of intensive care, which was one more than during the previous week.

The number of new infections decreased by 12%, which means that the incidence rate per 100,000 residents decreased from 970 to 850 in seven days.

A total of 5,403 people contracted Covid-19 last week, 769 fewer than the week before. The average age of people getting the virus was 42 years.

However, the positivity rate slightly increased from 34.7% to 35.23% within a week.

Five people died after having contracted Covid. Their average age was 74 years.

15,400 infected people were in isolation last week. 35% of new infections were transmitted by family members. In 13% of cases, people got the virus while travelling abroad, and 8% can be traced back to care homes and the health sector.

473,000 people are fully vaccinated, which gives the country an overall rate of 79%.
