The latest report from the Ministry of Health reveals that between 14 and 20 March, the number of positive cases increased by 30%.
Last week, 7,779 people tested positive for Covid-19. The seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 residents was 1,119.6 for unvaccinated and 1,268.3 for fully vaccinated people.
The number of hospital patients increased from 60 to 66. However, only three people were in need of intensive care, which is one fewer than during the previous week. Nine people died after having contracted the coronavirus.
The number of PCR tests increased from 17,857 to 20,228 last week. 75 people declared positive results from a rapid test. Active infections rose from 10,919 to 13,929, while the average age of positively tested people was 36.7 years.
2,310 coronavirus vaccine doses were administered last week. 141 people got their first shot, 828 the second one. 471,423 people above the age of five are now considered fully vaccinated, a rate of 78.4%.
