After five people were recently killed in a fiery head-on crash on the N15, Luxembourg's mobility minister considers installing a speed camera on the dangerous stretch between Niederfeulen and Fuussekaul.
Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility is examining whether to install an average speed camera on the N15 between Niederfeulen and Fuussekaul, following a recent accident that killed five people. Minister Yuriko Backes confirmed the plan, noting that speeding is common on that stretch of road.
While generally opposed to a proliferation of speed cameras nationwide, she said this case was an exception and must be taken seriously. We owe it to the people to look closely at this location, Backes said in conversation with RTL.
The exact placement of the radar and timeline for implementation remain under review, with expert assessments still pending.
The decision comes less than two weeks after a head-on collision on the N15, in which both vehicles caught fire, leaving five victims dead.
