During the same week in which the Chamber of Deputies passed the latest Covid-19 law, lifting several major restrictions, new infections with Covid-19 increased significantly.

The number of newly infected individuals increased by a quarter during the week of 7 to 13 March. Nearly 6,000 people contracted Covid-19 last week, about 1,200 more than in the week before.
 
The average age of infected individuals is 35 years.
 
Last week, 30 infected people were in hospital, with four being treated in intensive care. The average age of these patients is 53 years.
 
The seven-day incidence rate for 100,000 inhabitants increased from 755 to 940 cases.
 
Luxembourg currently counts 10,900 active infections. Seven people died with or from the coronavirus last week.
