On Thursday afternoon, the Ministry of Health confirmed Paulette Lenert had tested positive for the virus.

The deputy prime minister is said to be suffering from mild symptoms. Lenert is fully vaccinated and also received a booster jab this winter. In a statement on Thursday the minister said she would continue to work from home, where she is currently isolating.

Lenert is not the only member of the cabinet to test positive for Covid recently; Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn tested positive last Friday, while Minister of Finance Yuriko Backes confirmed she was isolating on Tuesday following a positive test.
