Last week, 3,648 people got infected with Covid-19, a decrease of 38% compared to the previous seven days.

However, due to the school holidays, the number of completed PCR tests also decreased from 15,000 to 9,000 last week. The seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 residents went down from 900 to 575.

The Health Directorate recorded decreases in cases in all age groups. The most significant evolution affected children below the age of 14, a group that registered an infection minus of 64%. The incidence rate remained highest for people aged 30 to 44.

Seven people died in relation to the coronavirus last week. Their average age was 85 years. 42 people were hospitalised with Covid-19, while nine had to be treated in intensive care units.

6,500 people got vaccinated last week, out of which more than 900 received their jab. The country's vaccination rate is now at 77.7%.

Health officials announced in the meantime that the three vaccination centres, as well as the pop-up stations in shopping malls and in gare, will remain closed on Mondays in the future.
