The Ministry of Health has clarified that a fourth booster will be offered to people who are considered immunocompromised, rather than all over-65s, as was previously reported.
In a new version of its weekly review published on Thursday morning, the Ministry of Health confirmed that a 4th dose of vaccine is reserved for all immunocompromised people.
The jab will be available to patients who have received an organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplant, but also patients undergoing lymphopenic chemotherapy or immunosuppressive treatments , as well as people with a primary immune deficiency, or adults undergoing dialysis.
The 4th dose of vaccine must be administered at least three months following the third jab, according to the ministry. This jab can be administered to patients by their attending physician, or by making an appointment at a vaccination centre.
The attending physician or specialist will register the patient on myguichet.lu to confirm their classification in the vulnerable category. The latter will then be contacted by the Vaccination Helpdesk to schedule an appointment at a vaccination centre.
It was previously reported that a fourth jab would be offered to adults aged 65 and over. This has now been rectified.
