MétéoLux has issued a yellow weather warning for today and Monday due to significant rainfall and severe gusts of wind.

Both wind and rain are expected to affect the entire Grand Duchy. The yellow warnings will be active until 3.00 a.m. (rain) and 4.00 a.m. (wind) on Monday. MétéoLux warns that branches and other heavy objects may be thrown on to roads by the wind.

While gusts will continue to reach as much as 85km/h over night while the warning is in effect, current forecasts suggest gusts of up to 60km/h can be expected into the afternoon on Monday.

Clouds are expected to stay for the rest of the week, with maximum temperatures reaching 10°C during the day.

Across the border

Heavy rainfall will also affect our neighbouring countries, Germany and Belgium in particular. Authorities expect both the Sarre and Moselle rivers to climb. In the French Lorraine region, gusts of wind are expected to reach up to 90 km/h.
