'Freedom Day'ADR calls for lifting of all Covid measures by 1 March 2022

RTL Today
The Alternative Democratic Reform Party (ADR) issued a press release on Wednesday to argue that "1 March 2022 should become the day of freedom for Luxembourg".

ADR officials expressed their belief that the most recent developments are largely reassuring: infections caused by Omicron are mostly mild, the number of hospitalisations is low despite many new infections, and the vaccination rate across all age groups is above 80%.

Nevertheless, tensions are still running high, which the ADR sees as resulting from the potential introduction of a vaccine mandate.

The ADR thus argue that the new laws should eliminate any form of CovidCheck and the 3G rule at the workplace. Furthermore, restrictions in sports, culture, and the hospitality sector should all be lifted.

The statement concludes that people should still maintain distance, wear masks “where it makes sense”, and get vaccinated. However, this should be done voluntarily: “Freedom always entails responsibility.”
