The Grand Duchy currently produces 979 gigawatt hours of renewable electricity - a 22% increase in 2020, compared to 2010.

According to the Luxembourgish Regulatory Authority, the goal is to increase this to 2,251 GwH in 2030. Luxembourg currently has the capacity to produce 522 megawatts, an increase from 488 in 2019. 421 of these will come from sustainable sources.

The increase is mainly due to photovoltaic plants, which in 2020 produced 27 MW more than in 2019 and showed an increase of 41 MW in the first 6 months of 2021.
