Following the floods, the Youth for Climate Luxembourg activists have announced a nationwide school strike on 24 September.

On Friday 24 September at 10am, just a few days after the new academic year has begun, the environmental movement will call for a nationwide school strike. 'We are up to our necks in water,' they warn, referring to the floods that have caused major damage in Luxembourg and many deaths in Belgium and Germany.

In the context of the IPCC's report, but also of the fires in southern Europe, Youth for Climate Luxembourg wants to remind politicians that they must finally assume their responsibilities. They must avoid new disasters and deaths and work actively to leave a viable future for our generation and the next, the group said.

Although the demonstration is planned, more details are expected to be announced, according to the organisers of Youth for Climate.
