The National Health Laboratory (LNS) performed analysis on 356 samples in week 29, representing around 62.9% of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the same timeframe.
The analysis showed that cases relating to the Gamma mutation had dropped by 65% compared to data from week 28.
However, the Delta variant is on the rise, reflecting a trend which began some weeks ago. It remains the dominant mutation of the virus in Luxembourg, accounting for 73.7% of sequenced samples, while the Gamma variant lies in second place with 23.9% of infections.
